8 August 2018: We received an update from Kate Schecter, President and CEO of World Neighbors about the recent series of earthquakes in Lombok, Indonesia and nearby Bali.
Our NRF Benevolence Committee responded quickly and we have already sent a donation to assist World Neighbors in their disaster relief. 100% of the donation is sent directly to their partners in Indonesia to help in the Lombok recovery effort. More than 140 people have died and ~20,000 homes are destroyed. Please continue to keep these people and their grief in your prayers. For more information visit https://www.wn.org/deadly-earthquake-lombok-indonesia/

9 August 2018: Our August Clean Up Hike will be held on Thursday 8/9. We depart the Fellowship parking lot at 9:00am. It is suggested that you wear long pants, closed toe shoes, and insect repellant. Work gloves are helpful for picking up sharp metal and glass objects. We provide trash bags, litter grabbers, and refreshments. We are typically wrapped up by 11am. With these Clean Up Hikes we have removed hundreds of pounds of trash from Anderson County and especially the Norris Watershed.
